Sheena Campbell Sorensen, DVM
- Dr. Sorensen was born and raised in Moses Lake. Her family relocated to Florida during her high school years, but she quickly returned to Washington to become a WSU Cougar. She always knew that she wanted to work and own a clinic in the Columbia Basin, and that became a reality in January 2013 when she took over Broadway Animal Hospital in Othello.
- Dr. Sorensen’s family has many ties to Othello and the Columbia Basin. Her mother, Monique, grew up in Othello and her grandparents, Monte and Veta Fraser, worked as the postmaster and a schoolteacher, respectively. Her father, Dean Campbell, is from Warden where his parents, Claude and Lorene, were very active in agriculture and the community. Dr. Sorensen’s dad spent many years with the families many animals and became a veterinarian in the 70’s thus becoming an inspiration for his youngest daughter.
- While at WSU for 7 years, Dr. Sorensen met her husband, John, while living in the school dorms. John is from interior Alaska, but admits that the Columbia Basin has grown on him over the last ten years. He is educated in fisheries and wildlife management, but is currently managing the Campbell Family ranch in Warden. Sheena and John have a soft spot for large dogs. They have three of their own, and constantly have a revolving door of pet rescue fosters or other dogs that need a little extra help.Dr. Sorensen and her husband also have a passion for horses. She was very active in 4-H horse and barrel racing during her younger years. Now she just enjoys evening horseback rides with her father and husband to “check the cows”.
- Dr. Sorensen enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, both large and small animal. She has a personal passion for small animal orthopedics.
